Connecting two shops to a tool you've only just met is a fair thing to be cautious about. Here's how Listalong is being built to handle your accounts: plain English, no security theatre.

What it is designed to do

Listalong is being built to:

• Read your active eBay listings, including titles, photos, prices, sizes, brands and item details.
• Create and end listings on Depop after your approval or configured rules.
• End an eBay listing when an item sells on Depop, and vice versa.
• Push tracking numbers to Depop after you upload your Australia Post labels.

Listalong is not being built to:

• Access your banking, payout or payment details.
• Message buyers on your behalf.
• Create listings you have not approved directly or through your configured automation rules.

Listalong is designed to operate at a sensible pace rather than aggressively interacting with marketplace systems, helping reduce the risk of accidental duplicate listings or inventory issues.

How your accounts will connect

Where eBay and Depop provide an official connection method, that is what we intend to use. The goal is that you are not handing your marketplace password directly to Listalong.

Connection tokens will be protected with appropriate technical controls, including encryption where supported by the hosting and database services used at launch. Access will be limited to the actions required to provide the service.

Why you may sometimes reconnect Depop

Depop login sessions expire periodically. This is a Depop behaviour rather than a Listalong behaviour.

The launch plan is to send an email or SMS reminder before a connection expires so you can reconnect before syncing is interrupted.

Does this violate eBay or Depop rules?

Listalong is being designed to work within the functionality provided by eBay and Depop. It is intended to perform actions that sellers can perform manually, such as creating listings, ending listings and updating tracking information.

Marketplace policies can change over time and sellers remain responsible for complying with the terms, policies and requirements of any platform they use.

Listalong is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by eBay, Depop or Australia Post.

Keeping your Depop standing safe

One of the biggest risks when selling across multiple marketplaces is accidentally listing an item that is not permitted on a platform.

Listalong is being built to identify categories that may breach Depop policies and flag them for review before they are listed. This includes categories commonly restricted by Depop, such as certain electronics, battery-operated goods and gaming hardware.

These checks are intended as a helpful safeguard, not a guarantee of compliance. Sellers remain responsible for ensuring their listings comply with Depop's current policies and requirements.

Your data

To run the service, Listalong will need to store the listing, inventory and order information required to keep your eBay and Depop accounts in sync, along with the account information needed to operate the service.

We don't sell your personal information or listing data.

Want to leave?

Account disconnect and deletion request flows are planned as part of the launch experience.

If you'd like your account and associated data removed, contact us and we'll process your deletion request in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
